Job Details

This is an opportunity to work as part of a team of some 23 risk professionals, right at the heart of the projects and programmes in TfL’s Capital Delivery Portfolio. You will be part of a central hub for all controls processes, systems and resources, working alongside colleagues in the field and responding to business needs.

Our key objective

In conjunction with the Professional Manager, Senior R&O Officers, R&O Managers and R&O Assistants, you will be responsible for developing and implementing consistent and effective risk and opportunity management across all our projects and programmes.

The role you’ll play

You will undertake key risk management activities, working flexibly to lead identification workshops and conduct cost-risk and schedule-risk analyses. You will also prepare mitigation scenarios and deliver training. We’ll ask you to identify improvements to our process, thinking creatively about exploiting the size and variety of our portfolio and working to embed a culture of continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

With an extensive understanding of capital projects and programmes – and the associated methodologies for project and programme management – you will also have excellent knowledge of risk and opportunity management frameworks, tools and techniques.

A good influencer, who will be able to motivate teams both inside and outside of our directorate, you will need specific technical skills in risk identification techniques, quantitative cost-risk analysis and quantitative schedule-risk analysis.

The rewards you’ll enjoy

The benefits are as impressive as the opportunity. Build your career at Transport for London and you can look forward to a final salary pension. From day one, you can enjoy free travel on the TfL network, 75% off a National Rail Season Ticket (and an interest free loan) and discounted Eurostar travel. There’s a tax-efficient cycle-to-work programme too. With 30 days of annual leave plus public and bank holidays, you can make your leisure time as exciting as your work. What’s more, you can choose to take advantage of a host of other benefits spanning childcare, private healthcare, retail discounts and more. Ideal advantages for a role that’s all about making sure the future looks great.
