Enginuity - Engineering expertise + Ingenuity with data

Play your part in giving Engineers the opportunity to change their world and ours.

Who we are

Enginuity is changing the world – well sort of.  We have a long history of leading and shaping skills in the engineering and advanced manufacturing sector.  As a trusted partner to individual engineers, educators and engineering employers, using unmatched industry expertise and data, we create practical solutions to workforce skills challenges so that engineers can change their world and ours.

The opportunity we have

  • Audit and Risk Officer x 1
  • Full Time – 35 hours per week
  • Permanent - Home-Based

Our journey of transformation is in full flow.  We are moving at pace and are investing in ourselves so we can support our sector at this critical time. COVID has hit the engineering and advanced manufacturing sectors hard and the workforces we have helped to shape and develop are changing again and in lots of cases, reducing.   This has meant we are evolving the work we do to meet the new skills challenges emerging for employers.

This new role sits within the Governance and Assurance team working across the whole Enginuity Group.   It’s an exciting time for this newly formed team and an opportunity to drive change and make a real impact.   We’re looking for someone to take responsibility for developing and embedding the Group’s risk management framework, developing and maintaining a strong compliance and audit programme and providing assurance and investigation arrangements across the business.

You will be the lead on internal and external audits and build relationships across the Group to help the business understand the value of best in practice risk management activities.   You’ll own and conduct investigations of potential or actual failings in the delivery of regulated products and services and work with senior managers and regulators to communicate the findings and recommended next steps.

Who’s right for this role

Whilst skills are important and rightly so, this role also demands quick thinking, innovation and a customer focussed mind-set.  We are one team, regardless of the role you do, and we all play a part in our collective success.

You’ll be hitting the ground running so we’re looking for someone who has previous experience of internal or external audit planning and delivery and who has led on risk management or continuity planning within a complex environment.  You’ll have been involved in third-party investigations and be able to show an understanding of audit and risk management procedures and practices.  You will also possess strong root-cause analysis/ problem solving, risk assessment and impact analysis skills.

You will be someone who can demonstrate your excellent organisational, project and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and you’ll possess the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business to build collaborative relationships.  With strong attention to detail, you’ll use your analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret a wide range of information and suggest solutions.    You’ll also be comfortable to influence a range of key stakeholders in support of achieving the desired outcomes.

Must-have’s

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • An industry-recognised risk or audit qualification.
  • An investigation qualification and/or demonstrable experience.
  • Experience of successful internal or external audit planning and execution.
  • Experience of leading risk management and / or continuity planning within a complex organisation.
  • Experience of planning, conducting and coordinating others to undertake on-site third party investigations.
  • Strong root cause analysis/problem solving, risk assessment and impact analysis skills.
  • Understanding of and experience in audit and risk management procedures and practices, including design of policy and procedures.
  • Experience in the development and application of business improvement initiatives to improve effectiveness.
  • Ability to genuinely add value to the organisation by providing timely and sound risk management support and advice.

If you have or know about the following its a plus

  • Experience of having worked within a regulated environment.
  • Experience of liaising / reporting to regulatory bodies.
  • An understanding of legislative requirements, professional standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the organisation.

If you have a genuine interest in helping us to change the world through science, technology, engineering, mathematics and or data – we would love to meet you.
