The role will be within the Risk Management team and report to the Credit & Market Risk Manager
Client Details
Our client is a thriving Executive Agency of the UK Government. They are responsible for debt and cash management for the UK Government, lending to local authorities and managing certain public sector funds. In addition to credit and market risk, the Risk Management team also has responsibility for operational risk and control, compliance, providing legal and regulatory advice and documentation support, and maintaining the accuracy of certain counterparty data. The overall Risk Management team comprises fifteen members of which five are within the credit and market risk team. The team is managed by the Credit and market Risk Manager who in turn reports to the Head of Risk.
Description
Analysis and due diligence on new and existing counterparties (eg. banks, pension funds, central counterparties, brokers, commercial suppliers).
Monitoring and reporting on credit conditions and market developments affecting the client and its counterparties.
Writing credit proposals and presenting them to the DMO credit & market risk committee.
Identification of risks and necessary policy changes for new counterparty types or products
Profile
1. Technical - Evidence of formal training in credit analysis of a range of counterparty types 2. Experience - Evidence of a sound understanding of key risks arising from trading with at least two of pension funds, banks, central counterparties and broking firms. 3. Experience - Evidence of producing analysis-based limit and risk policy proposals for submission and/or presentation for senior approval. 4. Experience - Evidence of a good understanding of the credit risks inherent in traded products such as repo, fx swaps, certificates of deposit.
