Job Details

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), responsible for cleaning up the UK’s earliest nuclear sites safely, securely and cost-effectively with care for people and the environment. Although our mission remains the same, the way in which we organise ourselves is evolving.

Over the last 12 months, part of the strategic direction for the NDA has been to strengthen and simplify the way our Group is organised. We are transforming how we manage some of our businesses to find more effective and efficient ways of providing nuclear clean-up and decommissioning on behalf of the taxpayer. Internal audit continues to play a key role in providing independent assurance of the organisation’s risk management, governance and internal control processes.

As part of this process, we require a Reporting Manager to ensure all Risk & Assurance reports are prepared and delivered to the highest standards and within the NDA’s reporting deadlines. Reporting to the Lead Planning & Performance Manager, you will develop Corporate Centre and Group Risk & Assurance reports ensuring sufficient frequency, accuracy, and insight to actively facilitate appropriate management decision making within our Stakeholder Committee.

In collaboration with functional teams across the NDA Group, your open style of management and communication will help develop insightful analysis of management information, clearly identifying and presenting issues, risks and trends that drive continuous improvement of processes, and create alignment with organisational and stakeholder needs. Above all, you will contribute to a synergistic environment that enables ownership and improves capabilities to provide assurance.

Closing date for applications is: Friday 21st May 2021

For a confidential discussion, please contact David Thomas on 07967 172902 or Balvinder Sangha on 07739 508312.

We value the unique differences that each of our colleagues bring to work every day and are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, included and able to perform at their best.

At NDA we are committed to creating a workplace that is diverse and inclusive, and we therefore welcome applications from women, BAME, LGBT+ and disabled candidates. We are happy to talk flexible working.

Company

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is a non-departmental public body created through the Energy Act 2004.

We employ just over 200 staff and have offices in Cumbria, Caithness, Cheshire, London and Oxfordshire. We own 17 sites across England, Wales and Scotland, some dating back to the 1940s, plus the associated liabilities and assets.

We report to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS); for some aspects of our work in Scotland, we are responsible to Scottish ministers.

Our role is strategic: we establish the overall approach, allocate budgets, set targets and monitor progress.

We do not have a hands-on role in cleaning up our facilities. Instead, we deliver our mission through others, primarily 12 businesses.
