Amigo Loans, an innovative UK consumer finance PLC is looking to appoint a Head of Risk. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this senior level role will help shape, implement, and transform the organisation's risk management framework and lead their risk function.

Amigo Loans is going through a major period of transformation to re-establish themselves as a market leading consumer finance lender. The Head of Risk will play a pivotal part in influencing the senior leaders to deliver business outcomes in an optimal fashion.

About this role?

Oversee the effectiveness of risk management across all non-financial risk types, including but not limited to business, operational and conduct risks
Provide second-line challenge to the oversight of financial risk types, including credit and treasury
Demonstrate the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor Amigo's risk profile
Manage the identification and assessment of risks and work with the appropriate departments and project teams to balance these risks with opportunity and develop action plans to enhance the probability that desired objectives will be achieved
Drive the risk assessment process associated with strategic decisions and emerging risk across the enterprise to ensure Amigo's risks are monitored as conditions change
Develop and innovate risk-based approach, policies, programs, systems, and processes
Establish collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders to assist in the development, assessment and monitoring of mitigation plans for enterprise risks to ensure all risks are managed to an acceptable level
Support risk-based decision making in key areas and develop corporate awareness of risk management
Train key contacts to focus on the identification of the most significant risks that could affect their ability to achieve business strategy and objectives. Provides one-on-one training as necessary
Provide key inputs into Amigo's Risk Committee, which oversees the risk management process and outcomes
Manage a small team of Risk Advisors

What are we looking for?

Professional experience and qualifications appropriate to the seniority of the role
Management experience and direct supervision of risk management department staff
Knowledge of analytical risk models, and the development of risk dashboards and associated metrics to identify and quantify organisation risks and present actionable conclusions to executive management
Solid knowledge of financial services regulations and requirements (ideally consumer finance)
Senior stakeholder management
Motivated self-starter and an active learner
