Role

The Risk Manager - Office of the CRO (the Role) supports the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO) by organising and reviewing briefing materials ahead of key risk governance meetings involving the CRO. The Role also coordinates with the Risk teams to deliver top quality consolidated reporting and management information in timely manner. By applying strong organizational skills and their risk knowledge and expertise, the Role is responsible for management of the relevant stakeholders within the Risk department and across LSEG.

The role utilizes their risk background in order to review and challenge all content received from SMEs as well as independently producing high quality insightful risk content for the CRO.

The Role is also responsible for communicating the Risk strategic milestones and specific goals to the stakeholders to ensure timely engagement across all levels of the organisation, in order to deliver successful outcomes and facilitate strong risk culture across the Group.

The role works closely with and reports to Chief Operating Officer of the Group Risk function.

Key Responsibilities

The Role is responsible for applying their in-depth risk management knowledge and best-in-class programme disciplines to all CRO initiatives - to both BAU deliverables as well as CRO strategic projects, including those associated with the integration activities and embedding of the enhanced risk management framework. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with the CRO to deliver Group Risk agenda
  • Deliver and coordinate the executive meeting packs
  • Working with key Group Risk SMEs and provide necessary review and challenge on all meeting materials and reports
  • Apply risk knowledge and experience in risk management to add value to all deliverables
  • Produce and/or review all key materials and documentation for governance meetings and provide challenge and recommendations to the CRO from a risk perspective
  • Review, oversee and challenge all content prepared for the CRO
  • Produce summary information and talking points and recommendations for the CRO ahead of presentations
  • Support the CRO in creating content and preparing for presentations and speeches as applicable
  • Facilitate the weekly direct report and leadership team meetings and the collation of agenda materials across Group Risk
  • Facilitate and deliver the monthly Transformation Risk report to Group Risk
  • Facilitate and coordinate the periodic and annual reporting for Group Risk as applicable
  • Review, challenge and consolidate the Group Risk CEO report and any key reports required from Group Risk
  • Provide support to the COO of Group Risk and CRO on change-related initiatives e.g. overall planning required to deliver the strategic projects, including defining detailed workstreams, milestones and deliverables (e.g. embedding of the risk framework)
  • Apply risk experience and knowledge to all aspects of the change portfolio and the business as usual activities
  • Apply best practice programme and project management techniques to all aspects of the change portfolio
  • Provide timely and insightful management information and status reports
  • Ensure early sight of all upcoming deadlines and deploy the necessary resources and Group Risk teams to deliver quality
  • Liaise with HR, Finance and Company Secretary on Group Risk related matters
  • Streamline/organize the requests and ensure Group Risk submissions are timely and accurate for all governance reporting
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to review, challenge and ensure requirements, risks and issues are well understood and addressed
  • Work with the executive assistant to maintain the governance planner and tracker

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Educated to at least degree level, with relevant further professional qualifications considered an advantage
  • Typically at least 3-5 years' experience in risk management or a similar financial discipline
  • Track record of being a high performer (e.g. fast track career progression)
  • Experience working in complex global organisations
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of complex projects
  • Experience of applying rigorous governance standards, effective reporting and issue identification
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate detailed issues into information that senior sponsors can use to make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to identify potential roadblocks in advance and propose effective solutions
  • Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes in a pragmatic fashion
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven track record in collaborative working style
  • Organised and methodical; can work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to navigate complex organisations
  • A strong eye for detail
  • Positive mindset
