The Audit and Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC)* has been mandated by our client, a FTSE listed technology market data provider, in their search for a Risk Strategy Manager. 

This position represents and exciting move for a risk professional looking to play a more strategic part on risk impact within an organization, with some prior experience or understanding of how KPI and KRIs fit into the risk matrix and as a result, reinforcing risk culture across the business.

Reporting into the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, you will assist in developing, managing and monitoring the company's risk strategy through producing Key Risk and Performance Indicators linked to deliverables. 

The successful incumbent will also can be involved in wider risk management work (framework development, risk register etc) but will focus on strategic risk outcome. 

You will be required to present and endorse your findings though presenting multiple workstreams to high level stakeholders (in some cases, reports will be delivered to the CEO) and so expert knowledge of tools such as Word and Powerpoint are mandatory. 

Summary of role function

  • Refine the Group Risk vision and strategy in conjunction with the Risk Leadership Team
  • Develop an approach to assessing risk management maturity, working with the risk framework leads
  • Create senior management and Board documents and presentations on risk management topics
  • Prepare Group Risk-owned Board and senior management materials
  • Analyse other relevant documents on behalf of the Group CRO and provide briefing notes
  • Works with the Communications department to establish the communications strategy; and Create and contribute to communications materials on risk management topics, including articles and Townhall presentations

Background Requirements

  • Experience working in strategy and/or risk management roles, experience of multiple risk types considered an advantage
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to execute with quality and efficiency
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and innovative thinking
  • Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes
  • Ability to distil complex information and extract key points and conclusions
  • Ability to write clearly and create compelling presentations tailored to a senior audience Proven track record of successful delivery of major projects involving significant complexity
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence
