The Audit and Risk Recruitment Company are currently recruiting for a Risk and Assurance Manager for a not-for-profit that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. In a space that has really seen a boom over the last five years, this well established company have regional offices and local partners spanning 50 countries. 

The ideal candidate will be IIA, ACA, IRM or ICRM qualified with 1-2 years PQE in Audit, risk, compliance, or governance that wants to advance their career in an organisation at the heart of combatting climate change. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provides assurance on the organisation’s risks, controls, and governance. Identifies gaps in controls environment and works with the business to develop solutions.
  • Undertakes compliance checks and internal audits, raising recommendations and tracking subsequent actions.
  • Supports oversight of formal risk management procedures, drives risk-based behaviours throughout the organisation
  • Provides guidance to the organisation on matters of risk, compliance, and governance.
  • Scans the horizon for legal, regulatory, and other operational environment changes that could affect the organisation across the countries where they work.
  • Assists with the management of incidents and near-misses, and business continuity planning.
  • Ensures the organisation has appropriate insurance coverage.

Required skills and experience:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in at least one of audit, risk management, compliance, or governance.
  • Clear, concise, and effective communication with confidence to develop trust, influence, and engagement from key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and autonomously to conflicting deadlines, in a flexible way switching priorities as the situation requires.
  • Provable experience of developing solutions and new controls at a company-wide level.
  • Comfortable providing informed advice to senior leaders.
  • Experience of reviewing processes or other controls, preferably in an audit or compliance background.
  • Highly organised and strong attention to detail. Excellent diplomacy and balanced judgement.
  • Experience in complex organizations, preferably the 3rd sector, and interaction with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Delivery of training and staff awareness events.
  • A demonstrated willingness to keep up to date with, and apply, best practices for changing legislative and regulatory requirements.
