Head of Financial and Commercial Risk

€120,000 per annum, potentially more for an exceptional applicant

Hybrid working - 3 days a week in the office - London, UK or Dublin, Ireland

The Audit & Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) have been mandated on an exclusive basis by the governing body for a major international sport. You will join the organisation during a period of exciting change and expansion as the sport branches out in to unfamiliar territories, seeks new audiences and grows its global profile.

Reporting to the Risk Director, you will join a newly established Risk Management function. You will be responsible for building the Risk framework, with a specialised focus on risks associated with financial and commercial activity. Our client is involved in the sale and acquisition of commercial rights and operates internationally, so you will be responsible for managing risks such as Market Risk, Investment Risk and Insurance Risk, as well as risks associated with international commercial deals. You will set up risk appetite statements, ensure risk reporting is in place and implement risk management policies and frameworks across the organisation. You will also contribute heavily to strategic risk management, working with the Risk team and senior decision-makers.

The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic, commercially aware Risk leader with a broad understanding and experience of Enterprise and Operational Risk Management fundamentals. It's likely you will come from a financial services or insurance background, but if you have relevant experience from other sectors you are encouraged to apply. Interest in sports might be helpful but is not essential!
