The role

The Internal Audit Managers role is to perform an assigned programme of risk based internal audit reviews that enable an independent and objective opinion to be provided to the Audit Committee on the adequacy and effectiveness of the University’s arrangements for governance, risk management and internal control and drive improvements in the controls over the achievement of value for money.

You will take responsibility for the scheduling and delivery of a programme of IT and other audits covering assignment planning, testing and reporting. You will work to ensure evidence and file documentation meet internal standards and manage relationships with stakeholders in review areas to ensure efficient and timely delivery of work.

It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Milton Keynes office it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs. We’d expect this to be approximately once per week.

Skills and experience

• Are you a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or do you hold an equivalent qualification?  
• Are you able to confidently scope, deliver and report risk based internal audits that conform to Internal Audit Standards and have a positive impact with senior managers and Audit Committee members?
• Do you have a detailed understanding of governance, risk management, and internal control?
