Are you a highly skilled Credit Analyst with a deep understanding of commodities and trade finance products?
Job Description:
As a Commodities-Focused Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for assessing credit risks associated with commodity trade finance transactions. Your expertise in credit, combined with your in-depth knowledge of trade finance products, will enable you to evaluate the creditworthiness of clients and identify potential risks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough credit analyses of prospective and existing clients, including assessing financial statements, cash flows, market dynamics, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Working closely with the relationship bankers to execute transactions.
- Evaluating the creditworthiness of commodity trade finance transactions and assessing their alignment with internal risk appetite and policies.
- Preparing comprehensive credit proposals, presenting findings and recommendations to the credit committee, and negotiating terms and conditions with clients.
- Monitoring credit exposures and portfolio performance, identifying potential risks, and implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborating with traders, relationship managers, and other stakeholders to structure trade finance solutions tailored to clients' needs while managing credit risks effectively.
- Staying abreast of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes in the commodities and trade finance sectors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit Analyst with a focus on commodities, natural resources, energy, power and trade finance products.
- Strong understanding of commodities markets, including knowledge of various commodities, pricing dynamics, and supply chain factors.
- Solid knowledge of trade finance products, such as letters of credit, standby letters of credit, guarantees, and pre-export finance.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, including evaluating financial statements, conducting industry research, and interpreting market data.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to assess credit risks associated with complex commodity trade finance transactions.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to articulate credit analyses and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in commodity trade finance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
